FaSTech Council Charter
The Family Services Technology Council's charter is to promote the well-being of at-risk children and families by identifying best practices for public and private entities' use of technologies to empower caseworkers and agencies.
The Council shall define at-risk children and families as those impacted by:
- Illiteracy
- Substance abuse
- Poor mental health
- Domestic violence
- Chronic depression
- Physical abuse
- Sexual exploitation
- Poverty
- Poor nutrition or hunger
- Chronic neglect
- Unhealthy environmental factors
Addressing Caseworker Needs
The Council will focus on technology that specifically addresses caseworker needs with an integrated strategy to ensure the best outcomes for families and children. The Council will address the roll of technology best practices in the following areas:
- Improving client engagement and relationships in the field
- Improving caseworker productivity in information gathering, retrieval and administration
- Improving caseworker collaboration with supervisors, resources and support
- Protecting client privacy and confidentiality
Executive Research Committees
Committee on Improving Client Engagement
Technology solutions and processes that enable more natural interaction with the family or child foster better experiences. The committee will focus on processes and tools that improve client engagement and create stronger relationships between caseworker and the children and families they serve.
Committee on Improving Caseworker Productivity
Faster access to information and increased productivity drive better decision-making. The committee will focus on the processes and tools that improve information gathering, data retrieval and case management centered on mobility and fieldwork.
Committee on Improving Caseworker Collaboration
Communication between case managers, caseworkers and supervisors is critical to ensure the successful management and assessment of each case. The committee will focus on the processes and tools required to create greater efficiencies in communication and collaboration across agencies and third-parties.
Committee on Protecting Client Privacy
Mobility creates greater opportunities for productivity and relationship-building. However, mobility also creates unique challenges for protecting client information. The committee will focus on the processes and tools required to ensure client privacy and confidentiality.
